Run the employee lifecycle from hiring through resignation and rejoin on an append-only status log — Joined / Left / Rejoined is never overwritten, so the full rehire history survives. Pay heads are typed as Earning or Deduction, and changing an employee's position tears down and rebuilds their entire pay-head structure from the new role's template automatically.
Leave is genuinely integrated: per-type, per-employee balances with annual caps and carry-forward; the holiday calendar feeds leave validation so nobody books leave on a non-working day; and approved unpaid leave auto-adjusts the salary sheet. Resignation runs through notice-period rules, and every salary run posts to accounting on its own.
